The Greek word for Furnished in 2 Timothy 3:17 is Exartizo. Which means “To completely outfit, fully furnish, fully equip or supply. Comes from two words, “Ek” and “Artiso” It was referred to a wagon or rescue boat which was completely outfitted or of a machine sold in a good condition and capable of perfecting the service expected of it. If you look in the context, we understand that Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. These are the things that “exartizo” us completely. As we were born in sin, Scripture will furnish us, completely outfit, capable of perfecting the service expected, or capable of perfection. However, perfection cannot mean perfection, since flesh still exists, but when we are capable to follow the Scripture and follow its commandments, it is capable.
